The Clay City Eels earned a pair of wins this week, taking a Tuesday night, 25-15, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Eastern Greene. Sarah Kennedy had 15 points, six kills and five blocks and Ashley McCullough added 12 kills and eight blocks for the victorious Eels. Born December 5, 1928, in Lafayette, IN, she was the daughter of Kenneth C. and Dorothy A. Shoup Coward. On February 13, 1993, she married Harry E. Cooksey in Brazil. Physician says, 'Don't panic' over avian flu

U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh, D, Ind., sponsored an amendment to the Department of Defense appropriations bill that would create an emergency fund to be used in the event of an outbreak of avian flu. The Senate approved the amendment late last week.
