New employee insurance plan approved

County employees will have better insurance coverage at a minimal increase for the next year. During Monday's meeting of the Clay County Commissioners, an employee insurance plan for the 2009-10 fiscal year was approved. Traffic stop leads to arrest

A traffic stop late Saturday evening led to the arrest of a rural Brazil man for various drug charges. According to information provided by the Brazil City Police Chief Dave Archer, around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Patrolman Jeremy Mace reported seeing a vehicle roll through a stop sign while turning onto Lambert Street from Jackson Street.
