My family and I recently visited Spring Mill State Park just south of Bedford. Nice weather was forecasted, and we had the time, so we quickly loaded up the tent and the bikes and took off. A couple of hours later, we were choosing the better spot to strike the tent, quite the decision since I do not like to sleep on a slope...

Democracy's essential ingredient
(Column ~ 06/30/13)
For those of us who think and write about democracy, few things are more appealing than a book about how to make it work better. My shelves are groaning with them. It was the best feeling in the world, the 66-year-old news anchor told The Brazil Times Friday, just hours before his final 6 p.m. broadcast for WTHI, the Terre Haute-based news station where he's worked for 23 years...
