Clay City increases water service tap fee

CLAY CITY-New water customers will be charged $750 to tap on to water lines in Clay City. That decision was made by the Clay City Town Council Tuesday night during its regular meeting. The city has been charging $550 to tap onto the water lines, said Clerk-Treasurer Sue Booe. But, the city is charged $750 for each installation, so the decision was made to increase the fee so the city will break even when customers want new or additional taps on water lines...
