For 18 years French's has been giving kids free pumpkins for Halloween

Young and old alike enjoyed selecting the first pumpkin of the Halloween season Saturday morning during the French, Lawson-Miller, and Schoppenhorst Funeral Home’s 18th annual Pumpkin Giveaway. Organizers of the planned two-hour at 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, said the 250 pumpkins from Swifty Farms in Clay County were gone in 90 minutes. “It’s one of our favorite things to do, to be involved in the community like this,” said Nick French. “Seeing the smiles on kids faces is hard to beat.”...

Staunton Elementary to receive national blue ribbon award at school board meeting

100 Women Who Care benefits Northview Band Boosters

At their Sept. 12th meeting, the philanthropic group 100 Women Who Care Clay County voted to grant $6,500 to the Northview Band Boosters. The funds will cover the cost of a new 24-foot trailer which will allow safer and more secure storage of front sideline instruments, guard equipment, and prop equipment during transportation to and from contests...
