The US Census Bureau recently released interesting information on grandchildren who live with and are cared for by their grandparents. The information also included how many grandparents were living with their grandchildren. The US Census Bureau reported that both the number of grandparents living with and responsible for their grandchildren were lower in 2021 than 2012 (7.1 million grandparents were living with their grandchildren and 2.7 million were responsible for their grandchildren in 2012).8 Similarly, the percentage of grandparents who were responsible for their coresident grandchildren declined from 2012 (38.8 percent) compared to 2021 (31.3 percent).. ...
