The mid-90s heat didn’t seem to bother either of Northview’s cross country teams Friday night at the annual Twilight River Run hosted by the Wabash Valley Road Runners at Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute.

Northview swept the high school team portion of the evening as the boys posted a collective time of 1:08.58 (Terre Haute South was the next closest with a time of 1:09.54) while the girls posted a collective time of 1:24.36 (Terre Haute South was, again, the next closet as the Lady Braves had a time of 1:30.59).

On the boys’ side of the night, Northview was led by Jcim Grant, who finished first individually with a time of 16:15. He was followed by Douglas Dillman (17:15), Clint Mager (17:19) and Connor Propst (18:07). Camden Johnson (19:09), Daniel Russell (19:29), Noah Minnett (19:34), Devin Jones (19:56), Nathan Kellar (20:09), Seth Hendricks (21:03) and Addison Shepherd (25:19) rounded out the night for Northview.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Knights had the top three high school finishers as Ellia Hayes claimed first place with a time of 19:53 while Gnister Grant (20:25) and Aubrey Miller (21:44) were right behind her with Reagin White (22:32) and Hannah Harrison (22:52) finishing near the top as well. Kaleigh Alexander (24:51), Leah Nevill (25:20), Cora Frederick (25:28) and Madison Lovett (28:53) rounded out the night for Northview.

Former Northview standouts Thomas Chapman (finished second in a time of 16:16) and Cam Trout (finished fourth in a time of 16:42) as well as future Northview runner Mac Sheese (finished 36th in a time of 19:50) were among the 205 runners to finish the 5k race Friday night.

Northview’s Wyatt Bennett won the 1 Mile race with a time of 5:30 to cap the unofficial kickoff event for the cross country season.
