Emely Rose Pletcher, 88, passed away May 14, 2024 surrounded by her family. Emely was born to the late Raymond Burns and Violet (Miller) Neyhart on May 13, 1936 in Hammond, Indiana.

Emely enjoyed reading books, doing puzzles, crocheting, and listening to music. She was a member of Brazil United Pentecostal Church in Brazil, her faith was very strong and she loved reading her Bible. Towards the end of her life, Emely was homebound and she so greatly loved getting visits from her family and friends.

Emely was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Odis J. Pittman and James Pletcher, two sons, Odis A. Pittman and Michael W. Pittman, a sister, Patricia Brown, and a brother Loren Burns.

Emely is survived by her children, Eunice Venni (Richard), Robert Pittman (Donna), Larry Pittman (Anna), Vickie Sikora (Chris), and Darcy Brown, five siblings, Roberta Gobin, Donna Verville, Lorna Dartz (Jack), Hillas Tims (Karen), Zelah Trueblood (Brent), seventeen grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who knew her as Auntie Em.

A visitation will be held Saturday, May 18th from 11 – 1 at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. Cremation will take place following the funeral service.
