Don H. McCullough, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Clay County on March 20, 1935 to the late David and Ruth (Bernhardt) McCullough. Don graduated from Ashboro High School and served his country in the United States Navy. He married Isla Zurcher and retired after 25 years as a Mechanical Supervisor for Peabody Coal Company.

Don attended the Croy’s Creek Congregational Christian Church. He was a master fabricator and mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed building and customizing cars, as well as sprint car racing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry McCullough; sister and brother-in-law, Winnie (Jack) Knust; and his grandson, Jeremy Godfrey.

Survivors include his son, Jack McCullough of Center Point; daughter, Anita (Brian) Godfrey of Center Point; brother, Jack (Nancy) McCullough of Brazil; grandchildren, Gregery (Heather) McCullough and Ezekiel (Shannon Alexander) Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Maddi and Kaleb McCullough; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
