LORETTA "ANNE" LAWSON, Clay County, IN

Loretta “Anne” Lawson, 69, passed away June 19, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Anne was born to the late James Crague and Loretta (Pearce) Crague on October 5, 1954 in East Chicago, Indiana.

In September of 1976, Anne married James “Jim” Lawson who preceded her in death in 1981. Anne enjoyed playing solitaire, browsing on Facebook, taking walks, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her late dog Nipper was her four-legged best friend. Anne was a member of Carbon Church where she was also very involved in the women’s ministry and Vacation Bible School.

Anne retired from Rose Hulman. Anne enjoyed working at Rose Hulman and meeting students and making great connections with them. Prior to working at Rose Hulman, Anne worked at Hardees for many years. She never knew a stranger, and had the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone.

Anne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, two siblings, Mary Summers, and James E. Crague, and a granddaughter, Jamee Michelle Lawson.

Anne is survived by her three children, Billie Langdon (Aaron), Melissa Jo Noblitt, and Tracy Lawson, seven grandchildren, Aaron Head Jr., Tyler Head (Elizabeth), Abbigaile Cooper, Mersadies Barnett, Tristan Chiles, Jeremiah Dickison, and Destynee Lawson, seven great grandchildren, Aaron III, Sebastyn, Emma, Aaliyah, Greyson, Mia, and Jameson, four siblings, Chester Crague, Cathy Larimore, Fred Crague, and John Crague. Anne is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 21st at 7 P.M. at Carbon Church 14100 North Murphy Road Carbon, Indiana 47837.

Cremation services have been entrusted to French Funeral Home.
