BARBARA IRENE KEASLING, Clay County, IN

Barbara Irene Keasling, 73, passed away June 14, 2024. Barbara was born to the late Virgil and Alma Layne in Putnam County on July 1, 1950.

Barbara was an over the road truck driver for nearly 15 years. She drove coast to coast and got to see a lot of places. In her later years, she worked as a cashier at Speedway where she got to meet lots of truck drivers just like herself. She was a member of the Vigo County Conservation Club with her husband Robert Keasling who preceded her in death in 2020.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, siblings, Larry Layne, Virgil Layne Jr., Terry Layne, Russell Layne, and Robert Layne.

Barbara is survived by her four siblings, Albert Layne, Evelyn Targett, Karen Emmerson, and Lisa Layne. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, cremation will take place and her cremated remains will be buried at Calcutta with her parents at a later date.
