Linda Sue “Tippy Sue” Tipton, 86, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on June 28, 2024, following a battle with cancer.

Sue was born on July 15, 1937, in Brazil, Indiana the daughter of Paul T. and Gladys (Nicoson) Riley. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1954. When in high school, Sue was the Basketball Queen, a cheer leader and loved swimming and diving. She attended Milady Beauty College and graduated in 1976 with a degree in cosmetology.

She married Gerald “Jerry” Tipton on February 7, 1976; he preceded her in death.

Her first job was at The Fashion in Brazil. She also worked for John Baumunk as a secretary, Columbia House as a manager, and the Brazil Elks.

She attended the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the American Legion Post 2, Brazil Elks, and the Lady’s Golf League.

Sue loved playing golf, playing Poker, and going to casino’s.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald “Jerry” Tipton; siblings: Wilma Jean Riley, Betty Swearingen, Lois Casassa, and Jodie Pyle.

She is survived by her children: Brett Hayes, Jan Robinson (Daniel), and Derik Tipton (Nicole); step children: Jeanne Slack (Eric Burns) and Mike Tipton; grandchildren: Austin Hayes, Dalton Hayes, Joel Rainwater, Jaclyn Robertson, Jessica Longo (Josh), Bobbie Gorby, Sophia Tipton, Chase Tipton, and Atley Tipton; step-grandchildren: Sam Miller (Andrea), Matt Miller (Kristi), Hunter Slack, Destiny Burns, Harley Burns, and Curtis Tipton; great-grandchildren:

Alexis Adkins, Brevin Westfall, Chandler Westfall, Caden Longo, Cora Longo, Chloe Longo, Layla Voiles, and Nova Gorby; step-great-grandchildren: Kaleb Miller, Allison Miller, Maddy Miller, and Mason Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Services will be at the funeral home, at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Lee Reberger officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
