Post 2, Post 346 matched up in American Legion Regional opening round

Thursday, July 18, 2024

Originally scheduled to play each other on July 9, Clay County Post 2 and Terre Haute Post 346 will have to wait until Friday’s American Legion Regional Tournament opener to lock horns for the first time in over five years.

The pair will be in the second of Friday’s pair of openers held at Terre Haute North’s Don Jennings Field, which is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. or shortly after the conclusion of the matchup between West Terre Haute Post 501 and the Indianapolis Hornets.

The winner of Friday’s game between Post 2 and Post 346 will advance onto the winner’s bracket and will take on the winner of Post 501 and the Hornets Saturday at noon. The loser will drop into the consolation bracket, putting themselves one loss away from ending their season – although, regardless of Terre Haute Post 346’s outcome in the weekend regional, it automatically moves onto next week’s State Tournament with them being the hosts of the event – Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
