Over the last five days, Northview’s boys tennis team wrapped up the conference portion of its schedule against Edgewood, Indian Creek and Owen Valley.

The Knights posted a winning record – just as they have for six straight years – going 2-1 in the trio of matches, all of which were nail biters.

Northview outlasted Indian Creek and Owen Valley, winning by respective scores of 3-2, while falling to Edgewood by an identical 3-2 score.

Northview’s final home match against South Vermillion, originally scheduled for Monday and then postponed until Tuesday, was cancelled due to inclement weather. Northview head coach Emily Goff and the rest of the team honored its pair of seniors – Zac Buell and Gavin Roark, who donned ‘Step Brothers’ t-shirts with their faces replacing those of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly on the movie poster – inside the school’s gymnasium. That leaves one more match – Thursday at Terre Haute North – left in the regular season before the Knights find out their path through the sectional next Monday night.

Listed below are the results from Northview’s three matches over the last five days:

Singles – Brayden Goff went 1-2 with his win coming against Indian Creek’s Grant Dalton in three sets; Derek Morrison went 2-1 with wins coming against Indian Creek and Owen Valley; Gavin Roark went 1-2 with his win coming against Indian Creek’s Grayson Taylor

Doubles – Zac Buell and Lincoln Pierce went 1-2 with their win coming against Owen Valley; Christian Bryan and Raj Singh went 3-0 with their wins against Owen Valley and Edgewood coming in straight sets and their win against Indian Creek coming in a third set tiebreaker
