3 local men arrested in Parke County in past few days

PARKE COUNTY — According to the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 15, deputies responded to a location in Mansfield referencing a domestic disturbance.

During the subsequent investigation, two men from Clay County were arrested in the matter.

Chandler J. Moody, 22, Brazil, and Luke James Moody, 42, Carbon, were arrested on allegations of domestic battery. Moody also had a charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Both subjects are being held in the Parke County Jail with no bond.

Moody appeared in the Parke County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Oct. 16, for the state to show probable cause and formal charges for Disorderly Conduct, a B Misdemeanor, during initial hearing proceedings.

A case was opened in the same court for Luke James Moody on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Luke James Moody was formally charged with:

Criminal Recklessness, a level 6 felony, with a deadly weapon,

Domestic Battery, level A Misdemeanor

Criminal Mischief, a level B Misdemeanor, and

Disorderly Conduct, a level B Misdemeanor, engaging in fighting to tumultuous conduct.

Further details are unavailable now, but both men are being held without bond.

RED FLAG LAW

The Parke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fight in southwestern Parke County. Once at the scene, John Guilliams Jr., 59, Brazil, was arrested and charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon.

Later, deputies acquired a warrant and seized all the firearms in Guilliams’ home under Indiana's Red Flag Law. NOTE: Indiana’s Red Flag law allows police to temporarily take firearms from someone who may be a danger to themselves or others.

On Oct. 10, Guilliams appeared in Parke Circuit Court for the state to file probable cause and formally charged him with a Misdemeanor of False Information substantially hindering a law enforcement process.

Guilliams is currently being held without Bond in the Parke County Jail.
