TIMELESS: CLOVERLEAF HEALTHCARE: One year later

Friday, October 18, 2024

At 10:54 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2023, Clay County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from Cloverleaf Health Center in Knightsville reporting a fire. First responders from multiple agencies, nursing home staff, and community members immediately sprung into action. All with one goal: to ensure the 71 residents and facility were safe.

Clay Community School Transportation Department and many family members of the residents and community members offered to help, to name a few.

No staff, residents, or volunteer injuries were reported, and the small ice machine fire was contained and extinguished at approximately 11:15 a.m.

To commemorate the unusual anniversary, Cloverleaf posted a video to social media showing the changes that can happen within a year and thanked everyone who was involved.

“While it was a terrible day, we are forever thankful that our residents were safe with no injuries,” the Facebook post read. “Without hesitation, the community dropped everything they were doing to assist us with evacuating, bringing food, and entertaining our residents at Hutson Wood. We are forever thankful to be in such a wonderful community!”
