Bowling Green man arrested Saturday on child exploitation charges, case ongoing

Although the current investigation is ongoing and details are very limited, Clay County Sheriff Brison Swearingen released details about an arrest in Washington Township Saturday evening.

Evan Steiner, 33, of Bowling Green, was arrested on Saturday, October 5th, transported to the Clay County Justice Center, and remanded to jail staff.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office was conducting a criminal investigation in Washington Township and found probable cause to make an arrest.

A search warrant was applied for and granted for the residence.

Steiner is charged with the following charging information:

• Voyeurism - Level 6 Felony; and

• Child Exploitation with a camera - Level 5 Felony.

As a result, Steiner was preliminarily charged with the following charges:

• Voyeurism - Level 6 Felony; and

• Child Exploitation - Level 5 Felony.

When complete, the case will be forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor's Office with further charging information, and the proceedings will be in Clay Superior Court.
